Long story short, I found my daughters cat on their website, my mum was going to adopt him but they wouldn't allow it because she lives on a road that USED to be busy. We proved with photos that it was her cat and asked nicely for special consideration as we would already be aware of the cats behaviour and history. (Something I thought would benefit the cat) But "computer said no" A distressing situation and they offered no help or empathy. You say if anyone is dissatisfied with you to email you, I did email and you ignored me. You don't inform people if their application is unsuccessful because you don't have time, yet, you find the time to respond to bad reviews, that doesn't make sense. Would it be so difficult to set up a pre written unsuccessful application email, that would take a couple of clicks to send? Also, if you're receiving "unprecedented numbers of applications", then why are these animals in your care for so long? It just sounds like you're playing god and fobbing people off.
