After spending alot of time trying to find someone locally to build my bedroom furniture and failing i rang Martin Howlett furnature even though Martin was 100+ miles away. Martin was spot on with time keeping his planning and drawings we detailed and what i wanted, he kept me upto date on progress and ideas that may improve my overall outcome. Excellent workmanship very clean and tidy and v resonably priced. So pleased i used MHF and would recommend to anyone. Martin will be back to do the Kitchen for sure. Dont bother with Sharps or anyone else.

We very much enjoyed working with Martin on a large bookcase/cupboard/wardrobe unit for our bedroom. We were looking for a piece to match our mid-century rosewood bed, so it was necessary to have a bespoke piece made. We chose to work with Martin on the project for several reasons: unlike other carpenters we spoke with, he did not charge us for creating sketches for the project, based on the ideas we discussed; he was very personable; and he seemed very knowledgeable about his craft. Martin did an excellent job of matching the style, colour and finish of our bed; the finished product was exactly what we had hoped for and the quality is top-notch. He also was excellent in keeping in touch throughout the project with updates (including photos of the work-in-progress) and questions & concerns. He met his deadlines and finished the project in the agreed-upon time frame. We would recommend Martin for those looking for a high-quality product and thoughtful, honest service and look forward to working with him again in the future.

We really enjoyed working with Martin. He produced a fantastic free standing glazed cupboard for us which has a great finish and is beautifully made. Martin takes a lot of care in the details and was a pleasure to collaborate with. He communicated well with us and made sure everything was as we wanted it along the way. We would recommend him to anyone and have now asked him to work on another project for us. He is a super craftsman.
