Great place to learn karate and make new friends

This is a very good dojo with a friendly atmosphere where I always enjoy the classes. Daren Sensei is a knowledgeable, patient teacher and will often explain the benefits of doing something in a specific way, and the real-world applications of a technique. The class content is varied and well-structured, and can be based around upcoming gradings and tournaments. A particularly good element of the classes is that when the class practices kata, students of all belt grades are able to join in with katas above their current level by copying Sensei and other students. This is a good way to learn the correct way to move and hold stances beyond simply what is needed to advance to the immediate next grading.

Daren is a fantastic teacher and runs a superb dojo. Great attention to detail and his dedication shines through. Our son thoroughly enjoys his time at Matsuri Dojo including the zoom sessions during lockdown which have been so professionally run. Keep up the great work Daren.

Sensei Daren has an excellent knowledge of Karate and his classes are always engaging and provide a really good environment for students to learn and develop. A fantastic Dojo!
