I was speaking to my neighbour, about how i wished i carried on playing the drums from my school days. As luck would have it, a good friend of his was a tutor. A number given, then liaison to a meet up ensued. I met Mat in his custom built studio, a relaxed introduction took place. I wanted to make sure we could both bond and mesh going forward. Mat is a great teacher, the lessons are well structured, and i get homework too within a easy to understand email.. I feel each session is tailored for me based on my individual strengths/weaknesses, but also dynamic too depending on how i'm playing on that particular meet. With that, Mat is very focused and insightful. I welcome how beneficial it is to have form critiqued to optimise performance. I feel a good sense of wellbeing after leaving each lesson and that keeps me engaged. The lesson is definitely a highlight of the week.
