The ferrers was a very nice pub, good service and good food, but, it was way too expensive for what we had, won't be returning soon without a price reduction.

I eat here reasonably frequently as its on the road running between Castle Donington and Ashby de la Zouch. Every time I eat here, it's a very "you get what you pay for" experience. The food is reasonably priced, the menu is standard british pub grub you expect, and it comes out hot and tasty. The first time I came here, I was shocked at how eerily quiet it got after about 830/9pm because people pretty much only come here for a meal and then leave. Their dog friendly practice is absolutely fantastic for dog owners, and generally, all dogs I have seen here have been really well behaved. Advice for new people coming here - there's no smoking on the seated patio area - even though it's outside - I think it's to not disturb people eating outside. Only downside to the menu is that the mixed grill is a really dry meal, but they may have fixed that as I had it ages ago, didn't enjoy it and I haven't ordered it since.

Visited with my dad. Friendly welcome, good selection on the menu and we both enjoyed our food. It was hot and tasty for a reasonable price. Couldn't fault our visit.

The food was very delicious, all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Although we haven't booked in advance and we were 8 of us, the girls have accommodated us shortly. The dog was also welcomed. Lovely gardens and kids outdoor play area. Definitely recommend them, as the food came relative quickly, taking into consideration the fact that it was Sunday afternoon and they were extremely busy. There are plenty of car park spaces at the rear. Disabled parking/ toilet facilities.
