A very comfortable stay, now we have found this little gem which is all that we need, we will definitely be back. After a long train journey, on our arrival at The Croft, we were warmly greeted by Maddison who helped us with all that we needed during our stay. She was very friendly and chatty, nothing was too much trouble. We slept well and all amenities required were available. We both enjoyed a generous full English breakfast, as Im a coeliac I needed a gluten-free breakfast, again nothing was too much trouble and Ken the chef checked ingredients which were all suitable. Would highly recommend.

There are many reviews from happy people, we don't all like the same things and the owners are nice people and the room was clean on arrival. I just feel people need to be aware of the pod showers in 3 rooms. We were shocked that in 2022 the 'ensuite' was a 1970's plastic pod caravan shower, you have to turn the hot tap on in the sink, then leave it running , then turn the hot water in the shower, add in the cold water after which you get very little water pressure, i have fairly long hair and no way could i have washed my hair in that shower, i would never have rinsed out the shampoo even if i had managed to get my hair totally wet in the first place, rather like trying to shower under a lawn sprinkler. You only get more pressure when you turn the hot water off. The glass shelf makes it really hard to use the sink without banging your head. Everything is tired and in need of updating. The photos on the website of the outside must be years old and the lights on the entrance are not lit at night, possible not working. It's easy to miss the entrance on your way back at night and it's makes pulling in a little dangerous. I didn't mention any of this to Maisie as when we said we were shocked by the bathroom (after hearing at breakfast on our first morning she preferred people to tell her personally if they are unhappy) we were just told we were free to leave. Not a professional response to unhappy customers at all. Our room wasn't cleaned or beds made during our stay but the tea tray was very well stocked with tea coffee milk etc. As nice as the owners are we will not be returning and judging by responses to other negative reviews we wouldn't be welcome anyway.
