Good food. Place was a little quiet so lacked atmosphere, which I put down to it being without a doubt the most expensive pub meal I've ever had! Very pricey...

May 1st update 2023 Good lunch in a busy pub. Staff working hard to keep up. Four adults and an active 3-year old enjoyed a whole range of mains from a children's pizza to a Halloumi Burger. All the food was nicely presented. Thanks everyone.... March 2023 update... Well modernised and attractive Greene King pub with an interesting menu and well presented food. We came pretty much on spec for Sunday lunch but rang beforehand and found they could fit us in. Four adults and a 3-year old. We were quite surprised and I think it was definitely due to the fact that this is a big pub with lots of tables rather than any lack of custom because it was busy and the car park was heaving! There is a large car park at the back of the pub but if it is full, you have to street park in the village. That's what we did. Service was excellent and we were shown up a series of modern, bare wood staircases to a large attic floor, ideal for us as a space with an active little girl. It mean she didn't disturb any of the other diners. There's a good menu. Drinks arrived promptly when ordered and the food was lovely. The Japanese waitress who served us was superb and looked after us well, despite having to work over several levels! All in all, an excellent Sunday lunch!! Definitely 5 stars for us.

A beautiful pub in an attractive little village a few minutes from the A45. We had the fish and chips which was outstanding.... Great service too and the place has a function room next door.... Nothing wrong here!

Due to being let down by another local booking we tried our luck to see if the Duke of Wellington had any spare tables. Luckily they had a spare table for 4. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming to us, everyone was friendly and the food was great! The building itself is really nice, and just oozes history. Shall definitely be back as we discovered plenty of live events and comedians perform as the Duke! Think we may have found a new secret gem of a place.
