I turned up with a full car (back seats down) load of scrap metal including lead, iron and steel. The gates were closed so I phoned them only to be told they were short staffed and he was the only one there. The man asked what I had and how much there was. The reply was that he wouldn't pay for anything weighing less than half a ton and if I'd got it in my car it didn't weigh that much.
Nowhere does it say on the web site that there is a minimum weight for selling scrap. I'm sure he'd have taken it for free but he didn't get the chance.
What a total waste of time and effort.
At least the skip hire place will benefit!
