What a wonderful little B&B! I stayed here as part of a group while riding at the equestrian centre nearby and it was absolutely perfect. The room was comfortable, the lounge area is perfect for relaxing in after a hard day, they accommodated our timings for breakfast, the food was delicious, and the location is absolutely stunning (see photo for the view from our window). Couldn't fault anything.

The good: The exterior of the house is beautiful, the village is gorgeous and there are some interesting antiques in the communal areas. The village pub is reasonable with good views. The rest: I was prepared before arrival that despite the cost of almost 100 a night, this was going to be a fairly rustic experience based on reviews. We chose to stay here because of affiliation and proximity to the riding school. I wasnt prepared for sleepless nights caused by the owners grandchildren running around shouting until 01:00, the house phone ringing and the family shouting about it after 00:00, or people having excessively loud conversations about cups of tea outside our bedroom door before 05:00. If you stay in a b&b you accept that you are staying in someones house and dont expect a hotel experience. But I expect to be treated as a paying guest - especially for 100 in a room desperately in need of a thorough dusting and updating. The grandchildren used the guest bathroom instead of the family one and did not flush or wipe up after themselves. I dont want to come on holiday and wipe up other peoples childrens wee. The breakfast was at best edible, with undercooked eggs and extremely salty mushrooms, but there was plenty of choice for a small b&b. We didnt get any acknowledgement or apology for the disturbance to our sleep. The owner was absent when we were paying the bill and it didnt seem fair to raise our issues with the member of staff who is employed to cook breakfast and housekeep. I wouldnt come back and definitely not at the current rates for the experience.

We booked to stay at the B&B purely because we were utilising the riding facilities at the equestrian centre but I wish I had booked elsewhere. The B&B is in an old, beautiful Cotswold home but the exterior is where the beauty ends. It needs updating massively, the towels are threadbare, the curtains barely work and fully cover the windows and doesn't take into account basic guest needs like hooks to hang towels or a functioning wardrobe. We stayed for 2 nights, the first night was uneventful albeit if anyone went in the room above us it was like a herd of elephants wearing hobnailed boots doing gymnastics so I woke up a few times. But our second night was a disaster as the owner had a large group of her family stay who kept us up until 1am, children running around shouting, stomping up and down stairs and adults shouting and swearing when the kids weren't going to sleep!!! So unprofessional when you have people paying almost 100 a night. Honestly, find somewhere nicer, they need a reality check if they want to charge people that much!
