SURPASSED MY EXPECTATIONS I have been thinking of booking a foraging course so sometime.. After a lot of research of ALOT of different courses I decided to I would give the one at woodland ways a try.. I went on the course yesterday Im not going to lie I wasnt sure if the course would actually be any good for the small amount I paid... I guess I went there hoping that it would stand up to my expectations or at the very least be value for money.. The course was wayway better than I thought it was going to be The instructors was friendly and had a sense of humour right from the start until the end of the course. They was extremely knowledgeable and not only give you in-depth knowledge of how to identify what you was looking forbut they also knew the history and folk tale side of things. They made it easy for you to bond as a group which in turn made it easy for everyone to get stuck in and get involved I wont go on too much.. but if your considering going on a course or its something you have been thinking of doing. Then this IS the place to do it And I will end with a massive thank you to jay,Dan & the rest of the team at woodland ways for a fantastic day James Francis

Absolutely amazing! (East Lothian, Scotland) The course was very well designed and executed by true professionals in the field. My feedback is from the perspective of someone who hasnt been close to nature - born and raised in a city. The course is designed in a way to lay out the principles of surviving in the wilderness without exposing you to life-threatening conditions. You will most probably have to do things, not complicated but rather fundamental for our human nature. The activities include knife handling and safety, water purification and fire-starting principles, shelter building, foraging, traps and snares and animal skinning. The instructors, Andy and Davie were the definition of professionals. Deeply knowledgeable and very well-spoken. Id especially recommend the course to someone like me who had zero touch with nature. Truly eye-opening.

I attended the foraging course today in Derbyshire with Jay and Joe and, what an incredible experience and, an opportunity to learn from these two amazing instructors. I was so fortunate too because I was the only one attendee in the end so I had both of them giving me their time and what a privilege it was. I couldnt believe they still run the course considering I was the only one in the end but they did, and they even drove between one and three hours to teach me, which is absolutely amazing. It was a great day, I learned so much and got to not only forage and prepare game, but we cooked a beautiful meal too with all the ingredients; it was stunning as well. I cant recommend this course enough and, Jay and Joe were not only incredible instructors but, genuinely nice guys too and their passion clearly came across all day. Their knowledge is phenomenal and learning about the plants medicinal uses and the folklore thats been past down made it an experience Ill never forget. What was a joy to see is that this is more than just a job. Its their lives; they live and breath it and, this definitely came across in such a positive way and, in a way that it infused myself as well to the point where it made me want to book on more courses and become an instructor myself. Its just been a brilliant experience from the first minute to the last and has given me some important tools to go and forage myself and, theyve lit a spark that makes me want to just immerse myself in deeper with the whole foraging and bushcraft scene. It truly has been a magical day and I thank both Jay and Joe for their time. I cant recommend the course enough and I highly recommended you book on the course or one of their courses. Itll be the best decision youve made.
