Amazing! As in 'disappointed'. We felt let down. Have travelled these countries, Europe and several parts of the World and always look at places we visit as if we were 'tourists'. If we were holidaying, as tourists from abroad, we would have been gobsmacked: Very little TLC, no litter bins, unkempt, has the immense noise of the A414 running by/through it, nave artwork displayed on its underpass, the 'junkyard' appeal of the Herts Yacht Club, aromas of the sewerage works in juxtaposition to the (so called) Visitor Centre and Household Recycling Centre. Oh, and did we mention 'Holts'? Just before you enter the car park there is an animal euthanasia centre..... Now, come on councils of England, are you really proud of this and The Lee Valley? Would you want this 'experience' if you were a tourist, let alone a British citizen trying to enjoy a day out? We can imagine anglers liking the two fishing ponds (dog owners seem to revel this place, but we don't need to, really, wonder why, do we?!?) and, even London city dwellers enjoying an escape to the 'country' but we reckon people living in Jaywick would feel let down and disgusted that a place like this is promoted as such. We were ready to picnic but ended up having a coffee in the local high street caf. Now, there's another story.....!
