Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Center

Go to this emergency unit if you want to be told that you don't change your bedding and that your house is so dirty that you have "cockroaches" in the house. We went to the pediatrician and all of the 4 doctors visited so far with our problem, Dr *** and her colleague were the only ones who told us that our problem is from cockroaches. Doctor, I would like to point out that our home is much cleaner than this hospital. The only place where there are cockroaches is your hospital. We will definitely not be coming back here.

We were seen and discharged in 2hrs total stay for our newborn on a week day around midday. The doctor was really nice, patient and explained everything and we left with no questions and without being rushed. Parking available at one level down.

I live around the corner and have used this service many times. I have never had to wait more than 3 hours. Im reading some of the reviews, and I believe people forget that this is an urgent care - not a GP. If you are not in urgent need, you wont be seen as a priority. Being in pain doesnt necessarily mean it is a priority - pain is natural for some issues, and people just have to deal with it at home (thats why they invented pain relief). I have never ever been left waiting too long when I didnt have a serious issue (a heart murmur, a broken foot). The reason I am writing this review is the last time I was in, I actually spoke to the doctor about wait times (we had a few minutes while a nurse found my medication). The doctor said that most people who complain are those who arent urgent and have issues that end up being results of a common cold or infection that a GP should be managing. I believe this. Last time I was in, I saw different groups of people talking about a cough they had. The lady and daughter in front of me could actually be overheard talking about how they knew it was just a cold but wanted medicine - yes, these people are the people who will have to wait more than 3 hours. In summary, dont be fooled by these negative reviews discussing wait times. The doctors are fine, on one occasion I needed a second opinion by a private GP the next day, but that wasnt a reflection of the doctor per se, more that I had a specific thing that any doctor would be confused about. I have given 4 stars, as last time I was there, there was a bit of rubbish on the floor and the waiting room was allowed to get very loud.
