We are extremely pleased with the transformation of a small, dark & damp area to a stunning limestone patio in our rear garden. Plenty of room for entertaining with BBQ, seating and decorative pots. James provided us with advice and options, responding quickly to our requests. The attention to detail was impressive, the team were professional, polite and we appreciated the fact that they completed the work without delays.

We used Marram Gardens when we had a house refurb. We were tight on a deadline due to a large bbq we were having. We explained the timeline at the start of the year, and were guaranteed that the work, including the bedding in of the new lawn would be complete. Whilst on site, the team were polite and efficient and since the work was done, we have had no rocking slabs, the sleepers we have put in for beds have not bowed and the garden still looks fantastic.

Replanted our garden 8 years ago and it looked lovely for the first year. Sadly quite a few of the plants didn't survive a cold winter and gradually we have lost more to hotter, drier summers. We also found that there was not a good mix of colour at different times of the year - it's nice in early spring but then quite dull through the summer. As we are not experts in planting but had made it clear in our spec that we wanted year round colour, that was particularly disappointing. However, our main issue at the time, which we did make clear, was the need to rid ourselves of ground elder, and that has been a complete failure as the suggested mulching proved totally ineffective and got worse with each passing year. Another firm later tried laying a liner, but it was too hard around the established plants so we have now given up the unequal struggle and resorted to chemical warfare. The opportunity to completely lift the soil at the time the entire garden was emptied was missed.... We will now be completely replanting over the next 2-3 years, but will be doing our own research and sourcing plants etc.
