Nice place. Nice people. Food exceptionally good with cakes and scones baked on the premises. Best tea and cake I have had in a tea shop ever.

We called into this busy cafe hoping to find a bite to eat and a drink. We waited a while for a staff member to acknowledge our presence even though we were seated near the servery and till. The staff were rushing about and there appeared to be a strange atmosphere between them. It appeared as though orders were being taken for items that had run out. As a coeliac I have to eat gluten free so when the staff member did come to take our order I was told that they had nothing that was gluten free. The staff member stated that they could not guarantee cross contamination would not happen. Most eateries do at least try to provide some sort of offering even if it is a prepackaged item. At least then they don't discriminate. We decided to just have a hot drink, at least black coffee should be safe. Whilst we sat there I was quite shocked firstly by the noise of the staff, especially the person throwing cutlery into trays next to us. Secondly by the fact that the deserts were left uncovered on a table next to the fridge. All in all a very bad experience and we will not be paying a return visit.
