Thompson & Cooke Solicitors

I received a very poor service whilst using Thompson and Cooke solicitors and I would advise anyone considering using them to avoid. I instructed Mary Dempsey on the 15th of July. More than 4 months later I still hadnt received my local authority searches from her despite paying for them on the 27th of August. On one occasion it took 3 weeks for my email to be acknowledged and when it finally was there was no apology from her. She ignored emails from my mortgage advisor asking for information until I made a complaint about it. After more than 4 months of working with her I still had no idea about when completion would happen. I never once received an update from her without having to chase for it and when I did it would be very brief and offer no explanation about what was actually causing delays. Overall theres just a feeling of a total lack of care and I ended up having to find another solicitor to take over.

Probably the worst and most unprofessional solicitors I have ever dealt with. We have had to spoon feed the answers to almost all questions raised. If you need something explaining its like getting blood out of a stone. From what I can see all they are here to do is tick boxes and get paid. Maybe we should have took the hint when we tuned up at their office to drop some paper work off and all the windows had been put through by what we have been told by other people was a disgruntled customer. Stay clear of this company.

Perhaps the most hopeless and unprofessional people. I was so unfortunate to choose them as my solicitors for my house purchase and I am going to regret it for sometime. very vague and secretive. they always lied to me regarding every single step and messed up so much Never respond to emails and phone calls. In the end charged a huge amount of money much above the agreed price. Horrible service

While buying a house they were very patient with me, i was a first time buyer and had no prior knowledge of the process, every one i spoke with was always very helpful. I will only mention first names as im not sure they would want them on here, but Mary and Lucy were absolutely amazing, even when i was a little panicked about things they were reassuring and helped me better understand the process. These two ladies really kept me sane through the whole process. I would recommend this solicitors to anyone. And would love to say a huge thank you even if it is only on a review.
