Great starting point for several hikes in the area. We had a nice half-day ramble over the moors and around a couple of the reservoirs in the area. Very beautiful scenery, leading into the western border of the peak district. Something I particularly liked is just how varied it is, going from smooth lawn, to mossy moors and steep mountain bike descents. We saw a few downhill bikers on the trails. I can't comment on the climbing as I'm not a climber, but I. The Sunday afternoon we visited there was single group of 3 people climbing, and we noticed some metal rings fixed into the top of the cliff. Plenty of roadside parking available. Well recommended for able walkers including older children.

Nice place for a hike. Very windy when we went though. A few people walking their dogs and a couple of people jogging. They all said hello. Easy to park on Hobson Road.
