    Dog-friendliness: Great for walking dogs

A green space which was a small scale chemical plant up until it exploded in the early eighties. There's a fascinating industrial heritage for the whole area. Hydro engineering is present so the way up cowbury Brook to the dam and beyond to the bottom of harehill clough. A circular walk to alphin trig point and back via the old Roman road is easily accessible from cowbury Dale, although the route is suited to people with a fair degree of agility and balance (especially on the hill near Harehill clough and when coming past the old quarry).
