Beautiful quiet walking spot with expansive views. Worth the climb, especially early in the morning.

The road along the bottom of the Helm is now fully open again. This makes parking much easier. It's still a very good place to walk the dog although it does get a bit muddy if it's been raining, so good footage with plenty of grip is recommended. There are views of the Lakeland Southern fells and the estuary at Arnside. All in all its a great place to get some exercise and there's a pub at the bottom.

Always a nice walk. Many routes to explore up and down the helm. Lovely views over kendal.
