Beautiful location, unspoilt sea views and nice grounds with plenty of seating areas. Old hall, which in places is showing its age but it appears a number of renovations are taking place. Bedroom was spacious, looked newly decorated and mainly new furniture. Tea and coffee facilities. Bed was comfortable but was a standard double so not much space, linen of good quality. Carpet let the room down - shabby and poorly fitting. Our view was supposed to be a garden view but couldn't see much of it due to a huge external fire escape. View to the other side was rear of kitchens. Bathroom looked newly refurbished, toiletries provided and nice fluffy towels. Shower kept going very hot and then cool. View from the restaurant was amazing - one of the best I've ever seen from a restaurant. Both our 2 course evening meal and full English breakfast were plentiful and very good quality. Staff were very friendly and attentive. 29 for 2 courses, wine 7.60 for a large glass. Unfortunately both the pool and sauna were out of action which was a disappointment. We would return but would upgrade from a standard double.
