My cat, Matilda, had a wonderful time staying with Sue and her husband at Cat's Whiskers whilst I was in a show at the Stephen Joseph. The cattery is very clean, well-maintained and very comfortable for the furry boarders. Both Sue and her husband were friendly and accommodating. If I'm ever lucky enough to work at the Stephen Joseph Theatre again (or am holidaying in this area) I will certainly be bringing my cat back to Cat's Whiskers.

Cat's Whiskers is a superb cattery situated along the coast between Cloughton and Ravenscar, at Staintondale. My rescue cat, Monty, stays here regularly. Sue, the owner, is a wonderful, friendly and committed animal lover, which is obvious from the moment you meet her. The business is situated between where I live and my friends who live on the brow-side towards Robin Hoods Bay. So whenever I house/pet-sit for them it makes perfect sense for Monty to stay with Sue (my friends' cat is getting older now and it would not be kind to introduce a young cat and upset him in his territory) The accommodation for the moggies is spotlessly clean, well-organised, and the pens have heated beds and area for food and water on the top level and a run and space for cat litter through a small entrance down some little steps behind. If your cat is shy or nervous they can have solitude if this is what they are used to. Each time we visit it is nearly always full of "contented guests", who enjoy peeping out at new arrivals as they settle in. I can rest easy whenever I leave my beloved boy as I know he will have excellent care and attention from all the family. Even when my request is short notice I have always managed to book Monty in, and leaving and collecting times are similarly flexible. I can highly recommend this cattery and I have given it 5 stars for the whole easy experience. Photos of my Monty.......
