Weston Road Chip Shop

I haven't been to this chippy but thought I'd call in as it was on my way home. I ordered large cod, chips and mushy peas. I was so looking forward to it. I was really really disappointed especially with the cod. It was absolutely tasteless couldn't taste any fish at all and the batter was soggy. Think it had been waiting a long time. Chip's OK nothing special but bonus mushy peas lovely. Sorry to say I won't be going in again. Times are difficult at the moment and at just over 10 had to throw nearly all of it away what a real waste of food. However good friendly service from the young lady who served me. Parking: Shame it's on such a very busy road hard to park.

Had kebab meat and chips yesterday lunchtime. Chips were good, standard fare, but kebab meat was absolutely gross. Looked pale and flaccid, in fact resembled leathery skin, very tough and dry, very bland processed taste. Could not eat it, and as it was the first takeaway I have been able to eat for months, due to illness, was VERY disappointed. Will still use for fish and chips but NEVER for kebab. Addition as of 31/03/2023. As I mentioned, said I would still use this place for fish n chips. Scratch that. Came down today as their hours are stated as 9 till 9 on the site, so fancied an early lunch at 1100. Turns out, not are they not open at their own stated hours, they don't open untill 1200!! Half an hour LATER than any other chip shop locally. I tried, but NEVER again.
