Hard working, very kind nurses. I think results may vary applies a lot to these sorts of places. I was an alcoholic and went through a detox here, I found it very helpful, but somebody who doesnt want to change may not get the full benefit of being here. I was on a ward with many people who had a variety of different issues not related to drugs/alcohol so I cannot speak on behalf of them; I think this challenges and overwhelms the staff sometimes as theres so much to deal with. I cannot speak for everyone, because, as I mentioned, there were people there for all sorts of reasons with stories nothing like my own, but if you are going here for alcohol/ drug detox and you personally want to change, then based on my experience I would say that this was beneficial.

Where do I start I was put on chebsey ward. it wasnt my first time being at St Georges but being on this ward this time has probably been the worse experience I have ever encountered. The staff are so arrogant and so Dam disrespectful its unreal. The way they treat some poorly patients in there im speechless. by locking them in the hall way so they cant go to the toilet or make some food is so hurtful when all they needed was someone to talk too Not to mention I myself went 4-5 days without medication which clearly as a psychiatric hospital they should be given and in stock but there excuses are worst than boris Johnsons. baring in mind they missed half of my physical medication which include my thyroid medication. I have no good news to tell while being on that ward I feel so bad for the people that get thrown in there then getting abused by untrained staff who think there doing the right thing when clearly they anit. I myself as a patient at to put a old chap to bed and make him a drink and put the bed cover sheets over him just because the night staff was to busy on there phones who just couldnt be bothered and thats coming from a patient myself. I dont no who ever is reading this message but theres major improvements needed not just the staff the psychiatrist too who thinks its ok to spend about 3 minutes with them who clearly just want to rush you so they can see the next patient meaning they really dont have time for you while your in there. Theres loads more to say but whos going to believe a word I say when Im the one thats been in there. They only seem to care if someone escapes or end up committing sucide. Which its to late to act. I rest my case

This organisation is devided into wards some seem better than others and they all have different procedures but when admitted you never know which one your going to and this is volunterary. Don't understand how the wards can differ so much. I have experienced calling the ward direct and the call answering but no one saying hello but I hear a whole confidential conversation with the staff and a police officer. Then they hung up the I tried calling over 25 times and it rang to a point then cuts you off. I am contacting bill cash local mp to report issues which serious need addressing as I have been employed as a receptionist at a solicitor s and whilst the company organisation whatever you want to call it throughout they're opening hours the phone was constantly maned. This is a concern as 18 patients in Chebsey and they maybe mothers sisters daughters fathers sons and if there were to be an emergency then a direct number is not answered but call through 0300 number you get put through. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm let's look into ah
