The journey was fine and the ticket controller in the train, friendly. Unfortunately the staff at the information desk at King's Cross were unhelpful and gave me a big lecture as to why I was late to catch my train (which I missed). More interested in talking among themselves, slouching on their chair!!! Went to the ticket office to purchase a new ticket, ditto, big lecture as to why was I late for my train and told that "here", trains work in a certain way!! I asked what do you mean by "here", answer in England!! It seems my foreign accent was detected and assumption were made that i was not from "here". I actually lived in this country longer than my country of origin and am also British. Point that i expressed - even if that wasn't the case and i was a tourist, we are customers, wherever we are from, and don't need to be treated that way, it is already bad enough to miss a train with whatever it entails. A message to the employer: training on DE&I is absolutely needed. Let's hope my return journey is better!

Initially I had bought all my train tickets from Australia. Where I live there are two companies, one is metro and one is not. I had no idea yesterday that I was getting on the wrong train... I didn't look. while I may have paid 40 odd pound for two from South Yorkshire to Kings Cross the guy was very polite and helpful. He checked my return ticket from London back up to Doncaster. Thank you kind sir.
