SUPERMAX

Great location and amazing setting, but a few things that let this place down. The prices on the menu positions this as a premium cocktail bar, but upon our arrival there was no one to greet us, no one to take us to the seats we had booked, and generally the lack of any kind of 'welcome' you would find at a bar in this price range. The cocktails themselves lacked in quality. Our group ordered a wide range of drinks, but nothing we received was particularly memorable or had that 'wow factor' that you get at similarly-priced establishments in the same area, either due to bad mixing or low quality ingredients. We had to the meaning of a drink "with a twist" when ordering, something that one would assume would be well known to anyone working at a cocktail bar, while the margaritas had no salt rim. The general feeling is the bar staff are not experienced mixologists, despite the premium price. The handling of the deposit when booking let the experience down further. I totally understand the need for a bar or restaurant to be covered in the event of a 'no-show', and think it's fair for a place to hold card details on file to cover this. Supermax however insists on money paid upfront with your booking, something that can become particularly pricey when booking with a large group. What made this worse is that I discussed with the host twice on the evening to make sure this deposit was returned to my account, but nothing was actioned. It took a further phone call to the bar to get this refund processed. If I had taken no action, the bar would have pocketed the deposit, so this is something to watch out for. With all that said, the bar itself is one of the best looking venues I'd been to in a long time. The decor is fantastic, the seating super comfortable, and the music and soundsystem provide an excellent party atmosphere. With a few upgrades to the service Supermax could be a real hit, but there is certainly some work to do before I would return again.

So. Thing thats were not in stock whilst being there coconut liquor, mint, the size of glass they use for rum and coke (?), rum. Now all these on their own dont seem like a big deal, but their menu is so weird, you just want to order a regular cocktail, which they dont have the ingredients for. So you order one of theirs, which they dont have the ingredients for. Also, the DJ was terrible and it was roasting inside and the waiters were terrible. Gets 2 stars for having a nice decor.

We normally love this place but really disappointed in the way we were treated tonight. We ordered another round of drinks and we were told we needed to immediately vacate our table. We were then told that we our drinks were ready, but not quite sure where we were expected to drink them. Im afraid we wont be coming back.
