The great thing about Katey and Pooch Paws is she doesnt just teach you the how, but the why too. For us, that meant we were able to continue with the principles she taught us and adapt them to our needs. By consistently applying those principles weve been able to work with our dog through all sorts of situations, including a very difficult adolescence and a long period of ill health with medications that affected his behaviour. Weve now come out the other side with a dog that an experienced breed club senior member described as a joy to spend time with. Is he perfectly behaved 100% of the time? No, hes a living, breathing animal with a mind and character all of his own. Do we have the tools to adapt to the surprises and curveballs he throws us? Mostly! Dont expect to go to classes and have Katey teach your dog to be perfect. Instead, listen and learn as YOU are taught what your dog needs from you to display the behaviours you desire. This isnt dog training, its owner training, and so much more valuable for it.

My partner and I have attended Pooch Paws training classes with all 4 of our dogs and I also attend gundog training with my Hungarian Vizsla, Zoe. The classes are always fun and with regular practice of the techniques we've made great progress; even during the lockdowns Katie organised for the classes to continue on Zoom! Katie has a real understanding of dogs - and their handlers - we would (and have) recommended her training to other dog owners and we would never go anywhere else.

I have been having 1 to 1 Behavioural management sessions with Katey over an 8 week period. Hector, my Anatolian Shepherd, had become incredibly anxious and was pacing, panting & drooling every night for hours on end. The whole family was disturbed and I had started to sleep in the kitchen. We were in a desperate state and Hector was suffering terribly. With Kateys help and amazing knowledge and expertise Hector has stabilised. Katey gave me so many good management and training tips which allowed me to have a deeper understanding of Hector. Katey liaised with my vet which was so helpful. He has put on weight, can sleep at night and is doing his usual rolling about on the grass in happiness. Without Kateys help I believe the outcome for Hector would have been dire. Many thanks Katey!
