With the months of delays we were expecting to move into a pretty perfect home. This was far from it!! The sales process was already a mix of emotions, from never being allowed to view our home through the build process to check how it was going to the constant delays. The day we collected our keys I cried, and these were not happy tears. It was like we had bought a second hand home. The carpets were stained, the house was dirty, incorrect fixtures and fittings, poor workmanship, the list goes on! After hiring a snagger, even with the advice of the sales team telling us we didnt need to waste our money as they take pride in there properties! it turned out the eye level things were minor in comparison to some of the other issues. No loft insulation, the house not meeting fire safety hazards in many aspects, again the list goes on. It was far from a finished home and we couldnt move into it for 19 days after completion due to the amount of work that still had to commence! Luckily we were in a position to be able to stay elsewhere. Would defiantly not buy a new build home from Morris Homes again!! Thanks for making our first time buyers experience horrific!!!
