Tiny, historic Cornish costal village. There are a handful of holiday rental properties here, most owned by the National Trust with the typical inflated pricing, although they are very nice. The private ones seem more reasonably priced. There is a National Trust car park which is a very reasonable 2 per day (2022) but has limited space once the cottage parking is factored in. The standard of parking here is appalling with muppets jamming their cars into the middle part and blocking other people in. For day trippers there is nothing here if you are not passing by on the coast path or visiting the cove. The beach is the main event and it is fantastic for human powered watersports or at low tide for exploring on foot. There is a local business renting canoes, paddleboards and providing instruction that is very popular and well worth investigating. Tidal range here is significant, 6.1m when we stayed and it can dry quite a long way out , so keep an eye on the tides and weather. The wind channels down the valley and out the cove and can be strong. The swell at the mouth seems to be considerable, with some big rocks that affect this area and appear at low tide. Bit weird but the slipway and part of the beach is signed as private and use is by donation, prices are displayed on a board.

(Translated by Google) A small hamlet with a small harbor situated in a small bay in North Cornwall. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1327. In the Middle Ages, boats and ships sailed from here to Wales to trade in lead, coal and building blocks, among other things. One of the old fish drying cellars has been preserved in the village and is now a museum managed by the National Trust. A small harbor is built in the middle of the bay. A few houses in the typical Cornish style stand near the shore. There are numerous rocks of all sizes and shapes along the waterline. There were surfers in the bay.
