I initially started looking for a PT when I was having IT band issues from increased running mileage without taking into account the importance of strength training and was looking for some rehabilitation guidance and also because despite feeling like I was a regular gym goer my progress working alone and attending classes had ground to a halt. I have been training with Dennis, personal trainer in Harpenden, ever since and have not looked back. Dennis brings his sports science background to his training and has a wealth of experience to help hit your goals whilst at the same time ensuring that you are keeping up with all that important mobility work that prevents injury when training hard. Hes great at knowing when to push and keep you moving forwards. And when other aspects of work and life are getting tough, my PT sessions with Dennis keep me motivated and on-target. 200% highly recommended!

Personal training Harpenden. Ive been training with Dennis @ Conroy performance at the gym in Harpenden 2 x a week for 4 Months now. His attention to detail is second to none, For too long Ive spent hours in the Gym Ragging myself, trying to stay strong and fit, just to hit a plateau. After 1 session Dennis identified my areas of imbalance, and put a plan to get my body working to its full potential. Im 48 and have 2 young boys, my goal is to stay fit and strong, so I can keep up with them and enjoy playing with them, without the aches and pains that come with aging. Dennis is helping me reengage my brain with the small muscles that really matter, whilst maintaining and building my strength. Honestly his knowledge and observation is amazing. It hasnt been easy at times but its been well worth the investment. Im moving better than ever.

I started training with Dennis to help recover from a slipped disc. He listened carefully to what I needed and created workouts which have really increased my strength and my confidence to exercise. Workouts are always challenging, yet achievable, and are designed to ensure Im constantly progressing. Outside of my sessions hes happy for me to contact him when I need training advice and he always replies promptly. Id highly recommend Dennis if youre looking for a trainer.

I've been training with Dennis for over a year now and he is by far the best coach I have had. Initially, he helped me with a long term shoulder injury, however, I'm now injury free. My training has gone from strength to strength. I've been able to improve my running performance whilst increasing my overall strength which I've always found very difficult. Along with my weekly in-person session, Dennis also programmes the rest of the week for me. This has been very beneficial in the longevity of my training. Dennis is professional, knowledgeable and a great asset in helping me achieve all my long term fitness goals. Highly recommended.

Summer 2020, its the middle of lockdown and Im slowly recovering from my 6th knee operation in 8 years. Its the longest and most painful recovery so far and Ive sworn never to go under the knife again. I cant fully extend my left leg and I cant fully flex either leg and, worst of all, theyre acutely painful if I try. Years of post-surgery rehab, physiotherapy and personal training has made little difference. Three different surgeons have told me to accept the fact that my legs will never be fully functional again. Im in my early 40s with 3 young children and this was an entirely unacceptable situation. An internet search for Rehabilitation and Personal Training in St Albans led me to Conroy Performance and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC). Fast forward 1 year and I can extend and flex both knees fully and pain free and most importantly Im getting stronger in those end of range positions. My legs feel better than they have for a decade! Im back doing all the things I love, Muay Thai, rock climbing, squash, running and most importantly, playing with my kids. To boot, Im generally fitter, bigger and stronger than Ive ever been, as a result of a holistic whole-body approach to injury rehabilitation and prevention. I honestly cant thank Dennis enough. Dennis is a modest and humble but highly motivated personal trainer with an encyclopaedic knowledge of fitness and strength training, rehabilitation and injury prevention. He provides me with twice weekly custom-made workouts, plus guidance on what to do between sessions, diet and nutrition information and regular text message check-ins to make sure all is going well. If youre looking for a personal trainer in St Albans and you're serious about injury rehabilitation and/or making some real fitness and strength gains, I highly recommend Dennis at Conroy Performance !
