Let me tell you about my experience with Articus. I required a bridging loan on my property that was all equity. I signed up and paid the commitment fee earlier October. At first everything seemed good, I needed the loan before December and was told I would have by mid November. My broker then started slipping below the line of the acceptable. He continually missed meetings and failed to update me. Right at the list minute he advised we switch the lender because this new one would 'issue the loan in 5 days' Fast forward to December, I'm stranded in the UK with no money, the loan was delayed. I was told all fees would be paid when the loan was issued this changed to having to pay 1,200 to the lenders solicitor and a 1,000 retainer. After paying this, I was continually told 'next week' until the loan was eventually denied. Not only that the solicitors are hounding me for an additional 800. That's right I had to pay 3k for them to fumble around an eventually deny the loan. I actually complained about my broker in November and instead of calling me asking what i wanted to do they got the broker to call me and pursuade me continue with him. Obviously the market environment is not the best for taking loans atm but it was all the hot air confidence as if it was a certainty. All I wanted to honesty, not constant promise breaking and condition changing. The experience with this firm ruined me and although when the CEO got involved the experience changed, it was too late a loan was already denied. I've dealt with mortgage firms before so I have a bench mark, Articus felt like it was some guys first day on the job and had no clue what he was doing. They refunded my commitment fee quickly which I am grateful for, but for all the stress and mismanagement, the extra 3k I had to pay the solicitors I'm shocked this firm has a 5 star review.
