I have bought from many auction houses in the UK and never had and bother with any of them till I bought from criterion.i bought a large vienna clock only to find the pendulum missing and the pediment on top also missing.after so many calls I eventually got the pediment but never got the pendulum.5 weeks later I bought a longcase clock and when I received it no pendulum and one of the tubular bells missing.i eventually got the pendulum but no tubular bell.this totally takes away from the value of an antique when parts are missing.all the tubular bells were with the clock clearly to be seen in their photos when up for auction.their after sales service is appaling and I will never deal with them again.they have inexperienced staff giving item out to couriers leaving them short of parts and they couldent care less when you phone them back.very bad experience overall.thank god all the other auction houses I have dealt with have been spot on.

My experience hasn't been great. I consigned six items in October 2022. I assumed they'd go in the next sale, but they weren't listed until January 2023. It's now March 2023 and I haven't been paid. The photographs were good, as were some of the descriptions, but six months (and counting) is way too long. I'd have sold by a different method if I'd known it was going to be like this.

sadly had very poor experience. Bid on cabinet, mine was the first bid of 80 . The item went for 80 but it appears someone put another bid of 80 just moments after mine at the end of the auction. My bid should have won according to the rules BUT no response after going into the auction house, emailing and telephoning. Seems the system has flaws and no one is willing to help...BEWARE!!! My bid was made BEFORE the auto bid and I sent proof of this to Criterion

We used Criterion Auctioneers for the deaccession of a corporate collection. They were very professional, efficient, helpful and friendly! I would not hesitate to use them again from the buyer or seller side.
