Tim did a fantastic job tracking down a very frustrating fault we had had for a three weeks. This was the random tripping of the RCD in our consummer unit, taking out all plug sockets leaving us with only the lights. It would trip at random any time of the day or night and we could not rely on having hot water, heating, or the fridge. The RCD would sometimes reset quickly and sometimes would not reset for several hours. It was gettng steadily worse, cutting out more often and for longer. We had eliminated all the usual appliances by unplugging them and seeing it still trip. Tim came in and over only two visits pinned it down to the RCD module itself. A replacement fixed the problem! Tim took the old unit home with him to rig up a test for it there, and it tripped there confirming it was the culprit. (Quite rare to be the RCD itself apparently, since they are pretty simple devices.) This was excellent since we now know the underfloor heating is not a problem, and also shows his professional curiosity. In fact he relished the challenge of tracking down a difficult to find fault, for example being willing to clamber around the small eaves spaces. (Contrast this with the first electrician we had in. That one took some readings, declared the RCD working, and actually said "It could be a 101 things. I don't know what it is. I'm going." No real effort to find the fault, and was happy to take a call out fee for dong essentially nothing.) If you need a good electrician, especially one with the right persistence, get in Tim.

I employed Tim To rewire some sockets & fit a new light with a fan, he was excellent. Trusted electrician, as these days you do have to be careful.. I recommend Tim to anyone needing Electrical Work.
