Such a pathetic and unprofessional service, waited more than an hour at the airport after a long flight because addisson lee did not show up and then on multiple calls they said that the driver would be here in 20 minutes but we had to 40 minutes more.

Ordered a taxi at 11am for a 1:25pm pick up. Got a text at 1:25 saying "your car is taking a little longer than hoped." No suggestion of how much longer I would have to wait. 10 minutes later (by now I am guaranteed to be late to an appointment) another "we are so sorry" text with no times mentioned. I ended up flagging down a black cab. Now the fun really begins. How to cancel my booking. It was my first time using Addison Lee (great first impression) and I had made my booking online without making an account. Clicked on the cancel link on the e-mail I had received. Turns out you need to sign into your account to cancel the cab. I don't have an account and I have no wish to make one as I will not be using the service again after this let down. Got a text at 1:55pm "We are very sorry... If you wish to cancel your booking free of charge follow this link." I follow the link. "Please sign into your account." Wonderful! At 2:07pm, as I am running from my flagged down cab to my 2pm appointment, I get a text to say that my cab is on the way with all manner of tracking details and a phone number. No answer on the number, I send a text asking to cancel. No response. At 2:13pm I get the text to say that my cab has arrived. I call the driver, (nice chap, not at all his fault) and finally am able to cancel the cab now that it has arrived. Some free advice: A. As well as letting people know that you are going to let them down, give some idea of the delay they now face so that they can make alternative arrangements. I would have been on time if I had flagged down a cab at 1:25pm B. Don't allow people to make a booking without an account if you require an account in order to cancel that booking. The faff of trying to cancel simply added stress to an already stressful situation.

Google asks did you use this business?, I would have if they didnt cancel on me last minute. Last night was Liam Gallagher at Knebworth and anticipating the hassle on finding a taxi I pre booked with Addison Lee mid April. My partner emailed yesterday morning before the concert to confirm the booking, which we received an email from Wendy back ensuring wed be picked up. 9pm rolls round and Liam Gallagher enters in his helicopter, the groups mood is buzzing, knowing we can enjoy ourselves and not worry about getting home, and what comes up as a text? Your lift is cancelled. Absolutely shocking. Dont even bother yourselves.

In the past (including COVID times) they were great, but over the past 8 months its a miracle if you can even book a taxi without the were fully booked message appearing. Im supposedly a gold member but that has zero impact. Have pre booked 2 taxis either a day or 3 days before, neither showed up and when I rang they panicked and said theyd try and organise one now (by then they were already 20-30 mins late), then had the audacity to try and charge a cancellation fee?! My work has now stopped using them as drivers would park ages from the office meaning wed have to walk very late at night (the reason for us being allowed taxis is to avoid this..). No idea whats happened but I can honestly say Ive given up now after using them for 10 years.

Make sure you check their invoices because they charge you extras after your journey has been paid for and completed. Surprises such as additional waiting time plus VAT, car park charges plus VAT (which already has VAT), and just for good measure because most people don't check, whatever you've paid plus VAT. Oh and their drivers asks for extras too in cash or they threaten you with extra charges afterwards! What a scam!
