Hot meal was served cold on cold plates. We needed blankets to stay warm at the table. Asked in advance if there was a vegan option on email and they said they would adapt a dish, and just served the veg and potatoes from the meat options with nothing substantial. Vegetarian options: Nothing vegan, still hungry after vegetation option

Easily one of the best and most enjoyable eating-out experiences we have had in a long long time and gutted this venue wont be around next year! The restaurant is beautiful with warm lighting, particularly cosy for winter. The food was absolutely sublime and a perfect (huge) menu! All dishes were unique takes on British food, using top quality, UK-sourced ingredients and perfectly cooked. To the point where there wasnt one dish that our table didnt enjoy. The staff were brilliant. The manager Tom was not only incredibly helpful in arranging our booking and helping us choose the Christmas set menu, he was the perfect host for the evening; really attentive and helpful for every need we had. Nathan and Frank were incredibly professional and friendly waiters too. Everything about the evening we had at the Nutbourne was over and above. Highly recommend everyone get down for a big meal before they sadly close on the 23rd Dec!

Overall the service here is great and the atmosphere in the pub is very pleasant but the food was a real let down. Our roasts arrived to us about 3 minutes after we'd ordered them, which in some ways was great but also a little questionable, as unfortunately the chicken was burnt and beef was fatty and tough - full of tendons and could barely be cut up. Were they returned by other customers or the end of a bad batch? For dessert, the cheesecake was melting which was a bit odd. It's all very disappointing since the beef roast is 24! Unfortunately for these reasons we wouldn't return, however staff are lovely and the pub is in a great location.

Without a shadow of a doubt the most disgusting food I have been served in a long time. I suffer with a few food allergies (gluten and dairy) and there really was next to nothing on the menu I could eat. I chose some lemon sole in the end asking for the cockles in butter sauce to be removed from the dish due to my allergies. When the food came, I was served a dry piece of lemon sole that looked so unappealing I wouldnt even serve it to my dogs. The FREEZING COLD cockles had been piled on top and the samphire which was due to be served with the dish no where to be seen. I sadly didnt take a photo but you will all thank me for not doing so as it was disgusting. When I spoke to the waitress and said that the removal of a butter sauce shouldnt leave the plate looking like it did she rudely told me to calm down and stop shouting. In no way was I shouting or raising my voice nor did I need to calm down given that it was a 32 dish I was discussing. My husband had the steak which was served with a cold sauce on a cold plate and he too said his food was poor and would never return. As my food was totally inedible I ended up eating some French fries which too were grim and tasted like old cooking oil. We will never be returning to the restaurant. Not only is the food utterly disgusting but the people who work there have absolutely no manners or training in customer service. A real shame as their other restaurants are 10/10, Nutbourne feels like the neglected child who requires some TLC ASAP.
