Fairly typical remote station with adequate facilities, such as a clock, help points, ticket machines, waiting shelters, and even automated announcements, making it quite well off for facilities given how remote it is, though it serves the Normans Bay Holiday Park. There's step free access to both platforms, and there is an hourly stopping service in each direction. However, the station doesn't feel too secure to be on, because of the combination of narrow platforms and frequent fast-passing services, with no space other than the waiting shelters to stand out the way of these trains causing turbulence, though it has been kept nice and clean for passengers.

Despite being operated by Southern, trains are hourly and usually on time (providing that they are running at all. Platform dates from the 1960s and is short, only able to serve three carriages of a train. There are convenient shelters on the platforms to keep would-be passengers dry and out the wind. The Star Inn is less that two furlongs up the road, which serves excellent food.
