This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the history of the tunnels and their use in WW2. David the tour guide was amazing and a real credit to the Fan Bay Shelter team. He is so knowledgeable and informative and I feel that the tour would not have been the same without him. Even my 12 year old daughter was not bored!! Definitely worth a visit.

We visited the fan bay deep shelter today. My boys were a bit worried about the darkness but was really interested in it all. There was a wonderful lady who was interacting with them alot, talking and showing them alot about it to try and put them at ease (can't remember her name.) And then to make it easier just incase my boys got too scared we was given a very lovely personal tour by Iona (sorry if its spelt wrong) the boys loved it and probably gave both of them an ear ache with all the questions. But they kept professional and patient and answered as many questions as they could. We even got shown the old gun turret locations and the magazine routes. We continued up to the lighthouse where we spent an hour relaxing. On return the lady called us back up for the boys to sound the siren. Overall was a fantastic experience made better by the volunteers onsite today.
