How wrong was I...unbeknownst to me the gift card had an expiration of 6 months. (Something that confuses me as most gift cards are for 12 months) Fast forward to December 2022 after having a busy year- further bereavements, health issues-stress induced and traveling abroad. I had remembered I had my gift card and thought it would be a lovely way to end my year with some treatments. I attempted calling, sending DMs & emails to Yemaya London to check how to redeem and to check if the voucher had to be used within 6 months or an appointment just needed to be made within those 6 months- ie outside 6 months but redeemed within that time scale. The communication was quite lax & nonchalant initially but I remained patient as I was being empathetic that December was likely to be a busy month. After a period of 3/4 days eventually I got a response first via DM & told to make contact via email. Which I did so- to again wait several days for a reply. By this point it was Christmas week. I had a wedding to attend in Devon from the 22nd December and was away until after Christmas. Whilst away the signal was extremely poor quite literally none or came in waves. (not Yemaya London fault or mine). I recieved a reply 22.12.22 my voucher was due to expire on the 23.12.22- It was explained that I would need to book in my appointment before my voucher expired. It was also mentioned that there was several appointments available for January & February. Indicating that so long as I was booked in before expiration I could have an appointment outside of date the voucher was issued. But also stipulated that the voucher could not be extended. But any issues let them know. As previously mentioned signal was bad in Devon. So I was unable to make calls let alone recieve emails. I attempted several times again to make contact with Yemaya as I was indeed having issues booking in for treatment via online booking system even being connected to Wi-Fi. I sent an email explaining and asking if they could book me in for an appointment and gave all my availability. I've never been responded to, nor DMs.I was so disappointed & disgusted by this awful service and what appears to be a way to capitalise financially by ignoring communicatiion. I kept quiet which isn't something I normally would do, but I genuinely did not have the energy or time to keep going back and forth. I decided to take it as another disappointment to what had already been a hard year. I stumbled across reviews, I read the bad ones just to see if anyone had experienced similar. Low & behold it appears that I'm not the only person whom has been impacted by such terrible customer service & blatant contradiction "Any issues please let us know" to let them know and be simply ignored. As my situation is not an isolated incident this is why I felt it necessary to create a review and inform people not to use the services as from a customer service stance Yemaya London is disgraceful when providing customer service and communication. Go elsewhere as its not worth spending money in an establishment that evidently cares more about making money than actual genuine customer service/communication. Aesthetics and social media following means nothing when customer service and communication is non existent. Lesson learnt.I was truly rooting for Yemaya London, now I've been left with a poor perception of how this business is run and angered that this is one of the most basic fundamentals as to why as a community of Black people we don't stick to our own! I had sent a follow up email which was "missed" in your words, So just find it strange at this point that you would say it could of been extended. I believe this is only the case becaue of my bad review. I had even called in after the new years weekend in the hope of speaking to someone to see what could be done I was unsuccessful. The mere fact there's evidence that I tried to use my giftcard within the time. But my email was "missed", I am still at a loss and also yemaya as what could of been a positive review is a negative one instead.

As a new-time customer, I had a facial at this salon and the experience was fantastic! The esthetician did a great job and she provided me with valuable skincare advice after the treatment had ended. I left feeling happy and so Yemaya will definitely see me again soon!

I had a Full Body Hot Oil Aromatherapy Massage with Aisha and I could not fault the experience at all! Aisha was super welcoming and friendly from the moment I came in and made me feel really comfortable during the treatment. She was extremely professional throughout, explaining the areas that she focused on at the end and what I should do post-treatment. The massage itself was extremely relaxing, and much needed, so I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I wish I could give this More than 5 stars. I was greeted at the door by a lovely lady named Aisha who welcomed me in and offered me a drink and a snack in reception. Whilst she was getting my room ready I was admiring the stunning decor of the salon. Very authentic and beautiful artwork. Aisha then took me downstairs to the treatment room and again, a beautifully designed room! She was very professional and gave me a beautiful facial! I will definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quality black owned salon! I cant wait to go back. Thank you ladies :) xxx
