  • Wimbledon Church

A faithful church with biblical preaching and worship with Psalm singing and the Authorised Version Bible.

A solid church, firmly rooted in the the Bible! Lots of space for free parking on site and around local streets, entry via the main road, A1203, opposite McDonald's. Still open morning and evenings too!

This church has been through some choppy waters in recent years but now seems to have entered a period of calm. It has a number of good things going for it. The pastor has recently fully embraced the sovereign grace of God in salvation or the doctrines of grace. There is also a good mix of psalms and hymns during the meeting and a significant message is preached. My biggest reservation would be is that there is no proper fellowship time after the morning service where tea and refreshments are served and Christian fellowship is encouraged (apart from special occasions). This is a shame as Christian fellowship is a vital part of the Christian life which we can't do without. After the meeting you are left to snatch a conversation with whoever is available before they leave or are involved in other duties. The pastor also has a full time occupation outside of the church and may be away for a week or two at a time and not always be available for pastoral help. Although in all fairness from experience he makes himself available as much as he possibly can. Rating: Three and a half stars. Hopefully they can rejigg the morning meeting so that a proper fellowship time occurs after the service.
