Dale Bottom Farm Campsite

We booked two caravans in October 2022. When we arrived the caravan was infested with flies, we killed about 200 flies and they kept coming out of the wooden beam along the ceiling. When we complained we were handed a can of fly spray and basically told to get on with it. As we had paid in full we had no choice. My son arrived late that night with his wife and two sons age 11 months and 10 years, the second caravan had even more flies and they were all over the floor making it impossible to stay with a baby. When they complained the farmer got very angry and threw what he was holding across the room and was very rude and shouted at them. Luckily they had not paid and were able to leave. The caravans were drafty, poorly equipped and dirty. Absolutely disgusting service from a profit making business who do not care about their customers at all. Have been coming to the lakes for 40 years and will never stay at Dale bottom farm again.

Stayed here 3 times. 1st time was on the last week in August 2019. 2nd time was 31st August - 4th September 2021. 3rd time was last week in August / 1st week in September in 2022. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Toilets, shower and wash room were clean with very, very, very hot water. The view is stunning. Very peaceful. It would be nice to be able to adjust the temperature on the shower. It's far too hot. It's 1, need to buy token to use the shower. Only 2 washing up sinks. Definitely need more for the size of the campsite. More shower blocks and toilets would be better also.
