My experience using the Applied model has been largely positive. It was enjoyable to write about my experiences in the application form and when it came to interview I knew I had to carefully craft my answers. Using this form of blind recruitment has led me to receive three job offers and an application in reserve with the UK Civil Service.

I recently have been applying for a number of jobs as times are quite uncertain at the moment. Out of over 50 applications I've made, I have to say Applied's software was the best I've used by far. Instead of reviewing my CV, the first round was based on 4Qs that were scored blindly by different team members. This was then used to make a shortlist that wouldeliminate potential discrimination based on background, schooling, etc. They then sent back a feedback sheet that shows the average mark of everyone that applied+ my individual questionsranked. I unfortunately didn't progress, but I was so impressed with how it worked and the innovativeness of the system. Compared to some of the other processes I've used, it is genuinely incredible.

Applied run regular workshops on decreasing bias in recruitment and how to actively increase diversity in talent pools - the workshops were insightful, engaging and delivered with data from recent research. I would recommend using Applied as a recruitment platform as it anonymises personal data about applicants and makes the process simple, not only for job-seekers but also for hiring managers and HR/Recruitment teams.

This system is terrible. I have used their portal twice for 2 different applications to 2 different companies. Both times there were serious issues. I would not recommend this to anyone. COMPANIES BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE TO TEST APPLICANTS. Buttons on their portal do not work, one one application I could not access my test portal at all. Navigation is impossible even with in-portal buttons. Information needed is missing. No matter which browser I use, there are issues. I am so frustrated and annoyed, no doubt my applications were affected. DO NOT USE! It is clear it is a new system as it was FULL of glitches and bugs. On the plus side, the help team reply promptly and are helpful, but these issues shouldn't exist in the first place, especially in the highly competitive application stage where even minor inconveniences can affect your outcome.
