    This goes back a few years now, but Transport Focus did help me once get money for a hotel stay out of Arriva Trains Wales. However I never got an apology or an explanation of the blatant lies ATW had included in their previous responses.

    I've read just a few reviews ref Transport Focus, all of them extremely negative. In contrast, my experience has been the opposite. The Trainline appear to hide behind a Customer Relations dept that relies on agents who don't listen to the customer's problem, don't understand the problem, are unable to articulate a response in writing and who offer no way of escalating a complaint. My demand for a refund on tickets purchased just before the March lockdown was simply refused. Transport Focus, on the other hand, listened, understood, approached The Trainline on my behalf and gained a refund within around 10 days. As far as I'm concerned, based on this one experience, they deserve 5 stars.

    Agree with the comments below. They are very cosy with the train companies and not accountable. They don't even have a complaints policy as they think they don't need one. Yet you have to chase and chase them for a response.

    Complaints should be sent to the ombudsman. Transport focus will simply ask the transport provider to reconsider. When the inevitable happens and there is no change in response, transport focus has no power to do anything. Don't waste your time, and go to the ombudsman instead.
