The apt acronym for this organisation would be CRUEL, not NICE. They recommend to not treat lipoedema with liposuction - the only effective option if the condition is severe - even though The patient commentary was mostly positive about liposuction and highlighted that lipoedema was extremely debilitating. The effect of this recommendation? The NHS does not do lipoedema surgeries, you need to go abroad, which will cost you 20,000. People sell their houses to fund their surgery. The NHS even refuses to do a blood test for you before the surgery abroad. A nice return for me paying them 400/month for the last 15 years. Talk about Hippocrates Oath, professional ethics, patients well-being etc. I wonder how these guys sleep at night, having caused so much pain to patients by their cruel recommendations.
