The problem with Indian restaurants in the UK is that they are in every alley, every corner, every nook, every town, it's taken over the country. But only a very small number, can count on fingers are authentic Indian, the food that you will get in a restaurant in India, without trying to adapt to local taste. Masala Zone for me is in that very small list. I always say that even the best Indian London restaurant is not better than an average restaurant in India, but Masala Zone puts in a genuine effort and they are score decent on authenticity. Cause according to me, the most important criteria to judge a restaurant is how genuine it is to the original, even for fusion. Most Indian food has disappointed me in the UK, but Masala Zone has done a good job. So, while I always tell people that Indian restaurants are in quantity but lacking quality in the UK, Masala Zone is an exception. Also, for the location, ambience I can only imagine their investment and running cost, but their food pricing is reasonable in that sense. So, this is one of the very few (less than 5) Indian restaurants to which I can go back.
