I received volunteer support from 'Support Through Court', previously known as 'Personal Support Unit' (PSU). This was at Wandsworth County Court on 5 July 2021 and 1 Oct 2021. Both hearings were in person as I had special needs. I represented my case versus an Ombudsman and won. At both hearings, the volunteers were fabulous in their professional attitude and caring attitude; with a volunteer fitting the bill of "exceptional person capable of being a magistrate or judge." I am so grateful to this organisation and these two individuals. It is worth adding that volunteers can sometimes take notes during a hearing for you---for example, it is easy to mishear dates given by the judge when you are nervous or tired and you might have to wait for a court notification for some weeks. The volunteer notes can have other uses too, that is, they can potentially be used in court should a misunderstanding arise, and of course, this is a lot quicker and cheaper than ordering a transcript through the court.

The building itself is a monumental example of a finest Classical Architecture. It provides space...protection....stability ! The Personal Support Unit is situated on the ground floor and forms a small part of this magnificent building. It's aim is to lend a helping hand where & when appropriate. The voluntars are as vital in being there as some of the smaller supportive colums in the stainless steel windows.
