The restaurant itself is lovely and the service was great but the food lacked substance and flavour which is surprising for an Indian restaurant. We ordered the bottomless Thalis (meat and veg) and honestly the initial portions were shockingly small. The curries were over anglicised and lacked any real Indian authenticity. The staff were lovely and happy to top up as per the bottomless but that took time and left me wondering why not just offer a little bit more to begin with? The bottomless top up of the chicken makhani had one small piece of chicken and the kofta curry had a tiny kofta. As much as I could have asked for another top up, why should I wait again for an expected portion of food. Looking around some of the other options aside from the Thali looked a lot better, but I will not be visiting again. It was a disappointing lunch having expected a lot more especially seeing Dipna on James Martin promoting the restaurant many times.
