I have been a patient at The Old Exchange Surgery on East Street, St Ives for years now and I cannot express Just how fantastic the practice is. They go absolutely above and beyond for myself and everyone I speak to says the same. I have been very poorly over the last 2 years after contacting septicaemia and losing half my right hip. They are all so kind caring, highly trained, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. Especially Dr. Judith Heslem who Is amazing. The nurses and reception staff also lovely. We are very luckily to have you Thank you to you all for your help Rebekah Davis Somersham.

This surgery is the best general practice I have ever been registered. The doctor is simply amazing, caring and professional. My GP Dr Judith Somers-Heslam is the best doctor I have ever come across. All staff is approachable, professional and friendly. Always helpful and kind. I can not express how grateful I am to be a patient at The Old Exchange Surgery.

Unfortunately they dont have a 0 star or i would have selected this. I had a crushed skull and a bleed on the brain among other injuries. When i went to the doctors because the pain relief the hospital gave me was confusing my brain i specifically asked for pain relief that wouldn't affect my brain so the doctor runs off asks doctor Heslan what to give me and came back with amitryptyline. This made me fall and break my ribs. I then made an appoimtment which for half hour. I had a siezure but still made it to the doctors i was 10 minutes late it then took 10 mins for the receptionist to get off the phone still leaving 10 mins of my appointment i was siezuring in the waiting room and then got told i was too late for the appointment and no one can see me. The doctor didn't believe me i had been in neurosurgery and was making it up. I did a FOI request and found the discharge papers that had been sent to her. She thought i was making it up and gone mad thats why i think she gave me amitryptiline a anti depressant that messes your head up. When i broke my ribs and met heslan for the first time she sarcastically said oh your the one that keeps coming back for more pain relief. I had boxes of pain relief i couldnt take either physically as i had smashed both top and bottom jaw so i couldn't swallow powdery tablits or they messed with ny head so i wouldn't take them, my head is and was all over the place from the injuries and then get accused of being a pain relief addict. I hate taking any medication i hate pain killers i wont even take paracetamol so for me to ask for them took a lot!!! then to be accused of being a legal smackhead really didn't go down very well. I would not recomend this place to my worst enemy. Heslan could have killed me.

I dont usually like giving 1 star reviews but I feel that in this case its needed. I was 15 min late to my appointment due to unforeseen circumstances involving my child and have been turned away as the doctors wont be seeing me. I have never been late to any of my appointments before, its the first time this has happen yet almost every single time I go to see them I have to wait to see the doctor for half hour and at times even longer. So They expect patients to wait for hours to be seen even tho they book you in for a specific time, you have to simply put everything on hold - it doesnt matter to them that you have to be at work or pick up your child from school, but if you as a patient are late thats it... they wont see you and now you have to wait for another few weeks for the next available appointment. Nice one
