I have been visiting this shop since I was a child. They have a great range of toys, and a whole variety of dolls house and toy train set things. They also have a lovely selection of teddy bears and soft toys. I find the shop assistants friendly, and will find you stock if you have a strange request (we once needed a miniature staircase for our pets rats and low and behold, they found them for us), no judgement, no attitude, just friendly service and queries about our pets.

So it's payday and I fancy treating my man to some model train stuff and myself to some of the doll's house items on offer. I was ignored by the woman behind the counter but I walked round the shop and had mentally chosen about 100 worth of stock and was going to ask for a basket or a hand when I spotted some golliwogs at the back of the shop. I was so shocked, I turned around and walked out. I will not be spending any more time or money in there which is a shame as I enjoy supporting local businesses.

Shop never seems to be open even in the opening hours stated on the St Ives town website. Looks to have a good selection of toys and models from the window though. Several potential customers tried the door then walked away whilst I was looking at a toy in a window. No info on the opening hours on the door either. On a rare occassion some time ago it was open, I went in to buy a Hornby train and was told "we keep them upstairs, but only for our regulars!" so they got no sale out of me. Very strange shop!
