+ nicely modernised with lovely local artwork
+ the property is furnished to a high standard
+ Well equipped kitchen (although a whisk would be great) including lovely Le Creuset crockery
+ extras provided such as dish washer tablets, hand soap, hand towels, kitchen spray etc all super helpful, you won't need to bring any extras
+ Lovely log burner with initial supply included and great recommendation of Logans Logs.
+ generous welcome basket, we had extra treats for Christmas/New Year I think, these were appreciated thank you
+ Great professional communication, Inc digital welcome book
+ Lovely to have work station and very good WiFi, but pls note comment below re mobile signal
+ Great half sized dishwasher
+ Great washing machine and tumble dryer
+ Good enclosed garden, but please note it is not secure (gate on to main street unlocked)
- parking was not "easy", very tight space to squeeze into in front of other cars on the road. Couldn't get to boot once parked so had to unload boot in road on arrival then park
- variable phone signal often with no signal especially downstairs- this should be made very clear on info
- the clip to unlock the gate to kitchen doesn't work, so you have to manually push it in. We ended up keeping it open, especially as our dog could get underneath it anyway
- I would suggest adding a bathmat for the bath and a cup in the bathroom for toothbrushes
- the doorway to the dining room and the twin room is especially low, my husband who is only 5'9" banged his head many times (there are signs warning you!). If you were any taller you'd struggle to walk in the dining room due to low beams. Whilst this is nice and quirky, it could be especially tricky for a taller person
- the stairs are really wonky, narrow and sloping and would be very challenging for anyone with any mobility problems, especially as the hand rail is rope and not solid
- the door to the main bedroom is a sliding door, which makes a noise upon opening and shutting, so if someone gets up to the toilet you wake the other person up
- the extractor fan in the bathroom stays on for a very long time after turning the light off
We did really enjoy our stay, it was clean and modern but with a cosy cottage feel. We just wanted to highlight some of the quirks so people could make an informed decision whether it is right for them.
