Here is a truthful story of woeful behaviour by Lewmar - no doubt someone will subsequently try to distort the facts. Spent 900 buying a nice new Lewmar Pro 1000 windlass. The company has a long standing good reputation. Contacted a helpful person in the service department who said he would send me a PDF (later over ruled by Toby) explaining how to link my existing Sidepower wireless remote. I also queried note in Lewmar instructions and offered to send photo. However as my instruction book was on the boat (36 miles round trip) I found the information on the Lewmar website and passed winch type & page no. to Lewmar by email. Next day I received email from Toby Price Customer Service Manager declining to provide PDF, but "could I send him a picture of instructions page" in question. Using information that I had already provided to Lewmar I found the relevant page in less than 1 minute on the Lewmar website. I think that the lazy approach by Toby Price (who couldn't even get my name right) and his unprofessional behaviour reneging on a promise to a customer fully deserved my "Go forth and multiply " find it yourself response. Lewmar should always honour their word. A further email I received said Toby had searched ALL their manuals to find the correct text. Hope it didn't take him more than the minute it took me. Surely Lewmar as a company are better than this employee's behaviour ! Note that another online Google review accuses malpractice. Was this the same Toby Price, and was he possibly a customer when he gave the company he works for a 5 star review ? I don't know ?

Bad support for their products. Have to communicate over email. Slow to reply (if they do) and usually give you a long runaround to get a skme answer. Never read the email you send properly
