Unfortunately, for the local Chinese (particularly students) community and for those of us who are interested in Asian produce, the proprietor of this shop knowingly steals your money. If you think a 2.5 kilo bag of rice (she charges anything from 12.99 upwards) that can be bought at Tian Tian (Aldgate) or Rice Wine (Soho) for 4 less (8.99).... if you think this is reasonable than you need a lobotomy. I had an argument with the Queen of this rip-off joint about 10 years ago-she was ripping locals off then and has expanded her mini-empire with your money. Hardly any of her prices are displayed so as to nab you with surprise at the counter. Bizarre that anyone does't walk to any of the alternatives. Lastly, it is a shame that a person of dubious character represents perhaps the only Asian outlet within a mile circumference. Now The Elizabeth Line is operational, I go either to Chinatown, Rice Wine in Brewer Street, or Aldgate for the brilliant Tian Tian. Please take note. Footnote: a few weeks after writing this review I have discovered that Sainsbury now sells a 5k bag of Nishiki Rice at 14 as well as many other Asian items (isle 6). Please save yourself the humiliation of being cheated and save money instead.

Honestly I would give a minus 5 star if I could. The priciest Chinese supermarket Ive ever been throughout the UK, even pricier than the tourist trap ones in Chinatown/Soho. Got back home and found out the stuff I got from the shop that was ON SALE was actually *EXPIRED*. I was disgusted by it, how desperate are they trying to get money from us customers by doing this??? Will never visit again, 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
