    We had a holiday in the last week of October 2022 and after several messages, emails and phone calls i have still not received my damage deposit back after being told it would be paid multiple times. The hot tub went slimy and smelly after two nights, this was sorted with the addition of two "sparkle" tablets. We were unable to get the heating to work, despite mentioning it nothing was done but as the weather warmed up it wasn't an issue. I was unable to find a 'gas safe' certificate displayed in the lodge. The lodge, Polzeath 11, was spacious and clean although it was showing its age, the welcome pack was very nice. As we were informed when we booked there was works going on close by - a large building site the other side of the hedge with heavy machinery moving around from 8am every morning. I am on my way to Citizens Advice to try and recover my damage deposit.

    We really enjoyed our short break in 32b Sandpipers over October half term. After a 10 hour drive, it was such a relief to find the house beautifully presented and super clean. The welcome pack of hot drinks etc was lovely, although we were slightly confused to find clotted cream and jam but no scones (we bought our own!). We didn't investigate any of the facilities on Retallack resort as we were visiting family and exploring the north coast on long walks with our dog. We found the resort easily enough, but there isn't much signage around the site. It's worth mentioning that there is no security barrier, so you can drive right up to your accommodation even if you arrive at 10pm like we did. It got too late to use the hot tub the first evening, which was a shame as it was ready and waiting. We used it on our two remaining evenings, which was a real treat with the supplied robes as well making it like a private spa. The beds were comfy although on the soft side, there was plenty of hot water (too hot actually, but I reported it and I think it will be sorted) and no problem with shower pressure. We could see contruction happening around the resort, but we weren't bothered by any noise where we were. We wished we could have stayed longer!

    We slept at the Retallack House Rockpools 18 for three nights. We were disappointed. The furnishings were very nice, but that was it. The house is very poorly soundproofed and therefore noisy. The floor in the living room is coming loose, there is no water flowing in the upstairs bathrooms when showering downstairs, the upstairs showers have such severe temperature fluctuations that they cannot be used, etc.... Finally we did not get back the damage deposit of 100 despite asking several times, although we did not damage anything.

    I would give it 0 star if it was possible. We came here for a short break and had our holiday ruined by Amy and her accommodation. Firstly, the hot tub was not usable as the service was booked whilst we were there, like who books a service when you have guests staying in the accommodation! Absolute waste of money. Secondly, the shower has 0 to no force, was just about able to shower and the water was ice cold, again a poor service. When we went for the accommodation part of the terms were fresh towels, we didnt receive this once throughout our stay so the information specified was completely false. And finally we were promised a refund of 100 but despite chasing and constant phone calls Amy or anyone in her team are yet to respond. Dont book this place, its daylight robbery and no where worth the money or a single star. As you can see from the other reviews I am not the only person to have gone through these experiences. STAY AWAY!
